The Racquet Club Master Plan includes the construction of five (5) additional pickleball courts, expected to be finished by August 2024.
Adding additional pickleball courts has always been the top priority of the Racquet Club renovation. New projects require multiple approvals from various regulatory and municipal agencies. As we moved through that approval process, construction began on renovation projects that did not require that level of approval. Work has been completed on landscaping and renovations to the ProShop. Some hardscape projects are currently in process.
All possible locations for the pickleball courts were discussed at length. After extensive review, the Club, RSC, along with numerous consulting teams (and input from the Conservancy, SIPOA, and TOSI) determined the optimal location was building the five (5) new courts in the existing parking lot, constructing a new storage building which will house two (2) bathrooms near courts 11-14, and creating a permeable parking area under the trees was the optimal decision.
After hours play is allowed on the courts with lights - tennis courts 1 through 4 and pickleball courts A and B. A reservation in advance with all player's names listed is required.
Due to island rules of "lights out," court lights automatically shut down at 9:30 PM and cannot be restarted.
The Racquet Club is excited to introduce the new “Play by Level” social play for pickleball, which replaces the previous Open Play sessions. This change aims to accommodate more new members and provide session times tailored to players of similar skill levels. Reservations can be made through GameTime, by calling the front desk, or by emailing the Pro Shop.
Private Group Play for pickleball is available daily and can be reserved up to 30 days in advance depending on Membership perks.
The new Pickleball machine can be reserved on an hourly basis as court availability allows.
Our tennis teaching staff are certified pickleball professionals. There are plans to hire a dedicated Pickleball Pro in 2025. The decision to wait on hiring a Pickleball Pro was made on the completion of the courts.
All pickleball session durations are set at 90 minutes, which the exception of Play by Level. The committee recommended waiting until after the new courts were built to access usage and make adjustments if needed.

You can reserve up to 2 courts for 90 minutes session times for up to 6 players per court. This was done to make the courts available for more players.
